Outreach Program

The Ravenscroft research group have strong links to community and are passionate about engaging with students around the importance of STEM and more specifically genetic research. The group have engaged in outreach with students from Greenwood Senior High School, Churchlands Senior High School, Mercy College, St Lukes Catholic Primary School and St Simon Peter Catholic Primary School.

A/Prof Ravenscroft has developed a lesson plan for Yr6s "DNA - the building block of life" that is run during National Science Week (August), it includes building (coding) a DNA double helix from base-paired bear lollies and extracting DNA from strawberries.
